We stopped and had a lovely meal at this pub on our way to Liverpool from Runcorn in our canal narrow boat we liked it so much that we called in on the way back from Liverpool and had another meal there, the staff were brilliant and the service second to none,

The original name of this public house was The Hope and Anchor and used as a part=timr church and medical centre for the boat people, apparently, this was usual practice along the canals throughout Britain in the 19th century.
