Old Post Office? I took a photo of this shop because it was small and quaint. |

The original Post Office was at the Nail House next door to the Packet House, the 2nd Post Office was next door to the Methodist Chapel on Barton Road, the postmaster was Richard Hall-Williams who rode in the Charge of The Light Brigade with the 17th Lancers, he died around 1900 and is buried in the churchyard at St, Mark's church on Worsley Brow at the eastern side. the 3rd Post Office was on Worsley Road opposite Mill Brow, the 4th Post Office was on Worsley Road opposite the 3rd Post Office, it is now a bar called the Delph and the 5th Post Office is the one in the photograph, there is now no Post Office at all in Worsley Village. |
